Fast start propels NCCC to road win

Niagara County Community College netted 50 first-half points en route to a 90-72 Western New York Athletic Conference road win at Genesee Community College on Monday. The Thunderwolves, ranked No. 12 in the latest NJCAA Div. II poll, improved to 23-0 overall and 4-0 in WNYAC play. GCC, meanwhile, fell to 14-7, 2-2.

Sophomore Kenetria Redfern paced NCCC with a team-high 23 points and 14 rebounds. She also had four assists and four steals. Freshman Molly Mahony came off the bench and contributed 16 points and nine boards. Sophomore Shilah Parker and freshman Aubrey Halloran had 15 points apiece, while freshman Paige Emborsky finished with 14 points and seven assists. 

Next up for the T-Wolves is a home matchup with Mercyhurst North East. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
