Niagara County Community College earned a pair of lopsided wins at this past weekend's annual Genesee Community College Cougar Holiday Classic. The Thunderwolves, ranked No. 8 in the latest NJCAA Div. II poll are now 12-0 overall. Next up on the schedule is the annual Thunderwolves Classic, which begins with a matchup vs. No. 9 CCBC Essex. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m. Saturday at NCCC.
No. 8 Niagara CCC 89, Ithaca College Club 60
Sophomore guard Paige Emborsky had 24 points as the Thunderwolves surged out to a 23-9 lead after one quarter and never looked back. Freshman wing Kennedy Izzo had a career-high 16 points and four rebounds off the bench, while classmate Alaina Forbes added 11 points and five boards. Sophomore point guard Nickelle O'Neil chipped in with nine points and seven assists.

Emborsky led the way for the second day in a row, finishing with 18 points on six 3-pointers. She added four rebounds and four assists for the T-Wolves, who led 25-5 after the opening 10 minutes. Sophomore guard Cierra Harrison added 13 points and five boards, while Forbes contributed 13 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals off the bench.
