NCCC races past Cougars

NIagara County Community College raced out to a 29-8 lead after the opening quarter en route to a 91-60 non-conference win over visiting Kalamazoo Valley Community College this past weekend. The No. 12 Thunderwolves are now 6-0 on the season.

Sophomore wing Molly Mahony led NCCC with 21 points and 11 rebounds, while freshman guard Alaina Forbes came off the bench to net 21 of her own. Sophomore guard Paige Emborsky canned four 3-pointers on her way to 12 points. In all, 11 Thunderwolves were in the scoring column and the squad registered 23 steals.

Next up for the T-Wolves is a trip to always-tough Frederick Community College. Tip-off is slated for 1 p.m. Saturday.
