Niagara County Community College jumped out to a 35-2 lead after the opening 10 minutes and never loooked back en route to a 94-49 Region III win at Mercyhurst North East this past Saturday. The Thunderwolves, ranked No. 11 in the latest NJCAA Div. II poll, improved to 24-1 overall and 5-0 in regional play.
Sophomore post Aubrey Halloran led a balanced NCCC attack as she finished with 19 points and nine rebounds. Classmate Cierra Harrison added 14 points and six boards, freshman guard Alaina Forbes netted 13 points and sophomore guards Nickelle O'Neil and Paige Emborsky each chipped in with 10 points and six rebounds. O'Neil also had eight steals and five assists in the win.
Next up for the T-Wolves is a trip to Butler County Community College at 5 p.m. Monday.
