NCCC wins twice after break

Niagara County Community College returned from a weeklong layoff and earned a pair of non-conference road victories the past two days. The Thunderwolves, who are ranked No. 8 in the latest NJCAA Div. II poll, are now 10-0 overall. Next up on the schedule is a pair of games this coming weekend at the annual Genesee Community College Cougar Holiday Classic.

Niagara CCC 88, Niagara (Ont.) College 72

Sophomore Cierra Harrison led a balanced effort with 21 points and six rebounds as the T-Wolves beat their neighbors to the North. Classmate Paige Emborsky had 15 points and four assists, sophomore post Aubrey Halloran had 13 points and five boards, second-year forward Molly Mahony added 12 points and nine rebounds and freshman wing Kennedy Izzo chipped in with 10 points off the bench.

Niagara CCC 87, Corning CC 52

Harrison repeated her stat line (21 points, six rebounds) as the Thunderwolves steadily pulled away from their Region III counterpart. Halloran finished with 17 points and eight boards and freshman guard Alaina Forbes netted 14 points to lead a strong showing from the team's bench.
