NCCC goes into break on high note

Niagara County Community College entered the Thanksgiving break on a high note, knocking off host Finger Lakes Community College, 86-36, in a non-conference contest on Tuesday night.

The Thunderwolves improved to 4-2 overall, while the Lakers slipped to 0-7.

NCCC freshman Faith Alessandra had a career-high 19 points off the bench to lead the charge.

Classmate Renee Ramoni notched a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds and the sophomore tandem of Aichata Ballo and Ashlynn Johnson netted 10 points each.

The T-Wolves had 23 assists and forced 41 turnovers in the victory.

Allaysha Grady had 12 points to lead FLCC.

NCCC returns to action at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 30 for a road date at unbeaten No. 20 Lakeland Community College.
