Three champs at Brockport Open

Niagara County Community College had three champions on its way to a second-place finish at this past weekend's annual SUNY Brockport Open. Freshmen Freddy Eckles (133) and Troy Keller (165) each earned their third individual title of the season. Eckles is now 27-5 on the year, while Keller improved to 32-4. Classmate Jed Middleton picked up his first collegiate title at 285 pounds to improve to 16-10 on the season.

Also for NCCC, Alex Salvaggio (141) and Alex Kelly (184) finished third, while Ryan Sebasta (157), Eugene Latson (184), John Fuino (197) and David Carnie (285) took fourth. Jaelen Jean (165) and Sergio Crespo (184) were fifth with Cody McGregor (157) and Dave Hernandez (197) finishing sixth.

Next up for the Thunderwolves is a home dual meet with regional rival Mercyhurst North East. Action is set to get underway at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
