NCCC uses pins to trim Saints
Despite missing three starters and dropping six matches, Niagara County Community College was able to slip past Mercyhurst North East, 22-21, in Region III action Wednesday night. The Thunderwolves are now 3-1 in dual meets and 1-0 in regional action.
Freshmen Alex Salvaggio (141) and Troy Keller (174) each picked up six-point pinfall wins for NCCC. Classmates Freddy Eckles (133) and E.J. Sampo (197) earned five-point technical fall victories. Eckles won 19-4 and Sampo won 15-0.
Next up for the Thunderwolves is Saturday's Case Western Reserve Open in the Greater Cleveland area. Action begins at 10 a.m.
