Keller takes 5th, Sportsmanship Award at Nationals

Niagara County Community College freshman Troy Keller (165) earned All-American honors after finishing 5th at this past weekend's NJCAA Championships in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Keller had a pin, a technical fall and major decision to his credit during the event. He was also named the Joseph A. Rockenback Sportsmanship Award winner following a heartbreaking loss via video review in the championship quarterfinals. Classmate Freddy Eckles (133) lost an overtime decision in the All-American round.

NCCC head coach Keith Maute was named NJCAA Man of the Year at the tournament after earning the nomination from the Northeast District I wrestling committee. He led the Thunderwolves to their 20th regional championship and an 18th-place finish (29.0 points) at the NJCAA Championships.
