NCCC drops three dual meets at SUNY Oneonta
Niagara County Community College dropped a trio of dual meets against four-year schools at this past weekend's SUNY Oneonta Duals. The Thunderwolves, who are ranked No. 11 in the latest NJCAA poll, drop to 5-4 in dual-meet action.
Castleton (Vt.) 29, Niagara CCC 16
Freshmen standouts Freddy Eckles (133) and Troy Keller (165) earned technical-fall victories. Classmates Ryan Sebesta (157) and Jed Middleton (285) won by decision.
Johnson & Wales (R.I.) 50, Niagara CCC 5
Keller (165) was the lone winner for NCCC, earning a 17-2 technical fall.
Worcester Polytechnic (Mass.) 33, Niagara CCC 13
Eckles (133) pinned his opponent at 1:08, while Keller (165) and fellow freshman E.J. Sampo (197) won via decision.
Next up for the Thunderwolves is the annual District I Duals hosted by Nassau CC. Action begins at 10 a.m. Saturday.
