Keller, Genau take 1st at JCC Open

Niagara County Community College sophomore Troy Keller picked up his fourth open title of the season at this past weekend's Jamestown Community College Open. The 174-pounder is now 37-3 on the season with 22 technical falls to his credit. Freshman Matt Genau also continued his winning ways, finishing first at 125 pounds. He is now 21-12 on the year.

Other place finishers for the Thunderwolves included: freshman C.J. Walz (133, 2nd), sophomore John Riena (149, 3rd), sophomore Jaelen Jean (165, 4th), sophomore Eugene Latson III (197, 2nd) and freshman David Carnie (285, 2nd).

Freshman Christopher Bradford earned his first pin of the season at 165 pounds to lift the Thunderwolves to the Western New York Athletic Conference dual-meet victory. Riena (149) also won by pinfall for NCCC, which improved to 13-4 overall and 7-0 in regional action.

Next up for the T-Wolves is the annual Region III/Northeast District I Championships. Action is slated to begin at 10 a.m. Feb. 11 at Nassau Community College.
