NCCC dominates JCC at lower weight classes

Niagara County Community College took the first six weight classes via pinfall, technical fall or forfeit on its way to a 38-18 Region III road victory at Jamestown Community College on Saturday night. The Thunderwolves, who were receiving votes in the latest NJCAA poll, are now 9-5 in dual meets on the year.

Freshman Greg Quinn (125) along with sophomores C.J. Walz (133), Freddy Eckles (141) and Michael Phelps (157) each won by pin. Freshman Katrell Jackson (149) was a 17-2 tech-fall winner and classmate Anthony Bell (165) won by forfeit. NCCC also received a nice boost from freshman Anthony Robinson, who scored a narrow 3-2 win at 285 pounds.

Up next is Sunday's annual Jamestown CC Open.
