NCCC has three champs at Brockport Open

Niagara County Community College had three wrestlers bring home titles at the annual season-opening Golden Eagle Invitational hosted by SUNY Brockport this past weekend. Freshman Frankie Gissendaner dominated the 149-pound bracket with four pins and a technical fall. Classmate Devin Van Lengen was 4-0 at 197 pounds and sophomore transfer Jordan Bushey went 3-0 at 184 pounds.

Also for NCCC, sophomore Jacob Bell took second at 125 and freshman Christian Robinson was 3rd at 157. Fourth-place finishers included: freshmen Jacob Mancuso (141) and Trent Ingraham (165). Sophomore Adam Mateo (174), freshman Maurice Jackson (197) and fellow first-year grappler Jaquan Johnson (285) took fifth. 

The Thunderwolves have a busy week ahead with a dual meet at Western New York Athletic Conference rival Mercyhurst North East (7 p.m. Wednesday) and their annual trek to Muskegon, Mich. for both duals and an open tournament (Friday & Saturday).
