Thunderwolves top JCC at Wolfpack Cup

Host Niagara County Community College utilized three forfeits and one pinfall on its way to a 30-12 victory over Western New York Athletic Conference rival Jamestown Community College on Tuesday night. NCCC improved to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in WNYAC competition.

The event, named the Wolfpack Cup in honor of the program's 50th anniversary, also included local high school and youth wrestlers competing on adjoining mats.

NCCC freshman 157-pounder Ethan Ferro pinned Donovan Fiscus in just 41 seconds to earn six points. The T-Wolves also got six points apiece for forfeits at 165, 174 and 285 pounds.

N-Trip sophomore Nikalis Voelker (149) and freshman Joel Nivar (197) also earned narrow wins via decision.

The Thunderwolves return to the mats at 9 a.m. Saturday for the annual New York State Collegiate Championships at RIT.
