Despite a hat trick from Alexa Caputo, Niagara County Community College dropped a 5-3 Region III decision to host Cayuga Community College on Saturday afternoon. The Thunderwolves (1-6 overall, 1-5 Region III) have now lost five in a row.
NCCC held a 20-11 advantage in shots on goal, but only Caputo could find the back of the net. The sophomore striker now has a team-high 17 points. Two of her goals were assisted by classmate Emily Benes.
Next up, the T-Wolves host perennial contender Genesee CC at 3 p.m. Wednesday.
