Niagara County Community College couldn't overcome a slow start as it dropped an 8-1 Region III decision against visiting Tompkins-Cortland CC on Wednesday. The Thunderwolves dropped to 1-5 overall and 1-4 in regional play.
NCCC fell behind 6-0 at the half before sophomore Alexa Caputo netted the team's first goal in over 334 minutes of game play. Classmate Tara Beach notched the assist.
Cali Daly had two goals to lead the Panthers, who held a 27-9 advantage in shots. NCCC sophomore goalkeeper Hannah Travis finished with 10 saves.
Up next for the T-Wolves is a road trip to Cayuga CC. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. Saturday.
