NCCC knocked off by Hornets

Niagara County Community College hung tough for 45 minutes, but couldn't keep up in the second half of a 9-2 Region III loss to defending NJCAA Div. III champion SUNY Broome on Saturday afternoon. The host Hornets improved to 2-1-1, while the Thunderwolves fell to 0-2.

Sophomore striker Cristina Catalano scored once in each half for NCCC, which trailed just 3-1 at halftime. The T-Wolves, though, faced 24 shots from a relentless Hornets' offense, which was led by Allison O'Shea's four goals.

Next up for the NCCC is a trip to perennially-powerful Tompkins Cortland CC. The match is set to begin at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday on the TC3 turf.
