NCCC picks up first win at Cayuga

Niagara County Community College had an offensive explosion en route to a 6-0 Region III road victory over Cayuga Community College on Sunday afternoon at Holland Stadium. The Thunderwolves improved to 1-4 on the season.

Sophomore captain and leading scorer Alexis Fyock along with freshman forward Katie Hummel each had two goals and two assists in the breakthrough win. Sophomore Kayla Neumann, a transfer from NCAA Division II Daemen College, registered her first goal as a member of the Thunderwolves. She also assisted on NCCC's first two goals. Another transfer, Kaleigh Kuzma, chipped in with a goal and an assist.

Playing out of position, freshmen Mikayla Sobus and Kerstin Crum combined for six saves to record the clean sheet in net.

Next up for the T-Wolves is a home date with perennial power Genesee Community College. Kickoff is slated for 5 p.m. Wednesday.
