Niagara County Community College, under the direction of new head coach Dave Hesch, opened its 2018 campaign with a pair of road Region III losses this past weekend. The Thunderwolves are 0-2 with their home opener slated for 1 p.m. Saturday vs. SUNY Broome.
North Country 5, Niagara CCC 1
Sophomore Alexis Fyock, last year's leading scorer, netted the lone NCCC goal on a penalty kick early in the second half. The T-Wolves, who played most of the game a man down due to injury, mustered just three shots on goal in the loss.

The injury bug once again hit NCCC as it finished the contest with just nine available players. Fyock, though, added two more goals to her early-season total. Freshmen Kerstin Crum and Katie Hummel each recorded their first collegiate goal in the narrow defeat.
