Wolves suffer tough loss to NCCC

SUNY Niagara was on its defensive heels most of the game en route to a 3-1 Region III setback against visiting North Country Community College on Saturday afternoon. The Thunderwolves dropped to 2-4-0 overall and 2-3-0 in regional games. 

Sophomore Rylee VanNostrand netted the lone SUNY Niagara goal - her fifth tally in the last two outings - in the game's final minutes. According to the game's official stat sheet, SUNY Niagara was out-shot 38-5.

Freshman goalkeeper Alexandria Szratter was credited with 19 saves, which gives her an impressive total of 73 stops on the year.

The T-Wolves, who are chasing one of the final regional playoff spots, return to the pitch at 2 p.m. Thursday when they travel to SUNY Broome.
