NCCC drops three matches at GCC pod

Niagara County Community dropped three close matches at this past weekend's Region III pod action held at Genesee CC. The Thunderwolves are now 4-8 overall and 4-6 in regional pod play. Next up is a home WNYAC contest against unbeaten Monroe CC at 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Genesee CC 25-19-25-25, Niagara CCC 20-25-22-19

Sophomore outside hitter Allie Bubar led the way with 13 kills and 11 digs in the four-set loss. Classmate Morgan Boss, the team's setter, had 28 assists and six digs. Freshman outside hitter Kelsi Palistrant added seven kills, sophomore middle hitter Alyssa Schlosser notched six kills, six digs and three aces and sophomore outside hitter Miran Newman chipped in with five kills and eight digs.

Finger Lakes CC 17-25-25-21-15, Niagara CCC 25-15-21-25-4

Bubar ripped 14 kills and 14 digs in the marathon five-set defeat, Boss had 33 assists, five digs and three aces, Schlosser had 11 kills, Newman added seven kills and nine digs and Palistrant had five kills, 10 digs and five service aces,

Monroe CC 25-25-25, Niagara CCC 15-8-12

Bubar had six kills in the straight-set loss. Boss recorded eight assists and Palistrant had three kills and five digs.
