Host Niagara County Community College dropped a hard-fought Western New York Athletic Conference match to rival Erie CC on Thursday night. The scores were: 25-11, 28-26 and 25-18 in favor of the Kats. The Thunderwolves fell to 5-11 on the season.
Freshman hitters Emma Okoniewski and Jenna Faulkner combined for 11 kills, while classmate Leanne Lettow had 18 assists. The sophomore-freshman tandem of Lauren Wills and Kelsi Palistrant teamed up for 29 digs in the loss.
Next up for NCCC is a series of Region III pod matches at Onondaga CC. Opponents include: Cayuga CC, Jefferson CC and the host Lazers. First serve is set for 11 a.m. Oct. 15.
