Niagara County Community College opened its 2016 campaign with a tough three-set loss at Western New York Conference rival Jamestown CC on Tuesday night. Games scores were: 25-20, 25-19 and 25-16 in favor of the host Jayhawks, who improved to 5-4 overall.
Freshman right-side hitter Jenna Faulkner led the offense with nine kills, while freshman setter Leanne Lettow racked up 20 assists. Defensively, sophomore Kelsi Palistrant and freshman Lauren Wills combined for 17 digs.
Up next, NCCC (0-1) will travel to Fulton-Montgomery CC for a series of Region III pod matches this Saturday. Opponents include: Herkimer College, Mohawk Valley CC and the host Raiders.
