Niagara County Community College knocked off Cayuga CC at this past weekend's Region III pod matches hosted by Onondaga CC. The Thunderwolves are now 7-13 on the season with the annual Western New York Athletic Conference tournament slated for Saturday at Erie CC.
Niagara CCC 25-27-25, Cayuga CC 20-25-17
Freshmen Jenna Faulkner and Emma Okoniewski combined for 20 kills in the sweep. Faulkner also had seven digs. Classmate Leanne Lettow finished with 23 assists and 17 digs, while Lauren Wills added seven kills and 10 digs.
Onondaga CC 25-25-25, Niagara CCC 19-22-8
Wills notched five kills and nine digs, while Lettow had 18 assists in the loss.
Jefferson CC 25-25-25, Niagara CCC 18-12-14
Faulkner ripped eight kills, sophomore Kelsi Palistrant had 20 digs and Lettow finished with 17 assists in the defeat.
