T-Wolves dropped by MCC in three sets

Niagara County Community College fell in straight sets to Western New York Athletic Conference rival Monroe Community College on Tuesday. The scores were 25-11, 25-15, 25-16 in favor of the visiting Tribunes, who improved to 15-2. NCCC, meanwhile, fell to 1-11 on the season.

After MCC breezed through the first two sets, the Thunderwolves raced out to a 9-1 lead in the third. That advantage, though, was quickly erased as the Tribunes rattled off nine consecutive points and never looked back.

Freshman Madison Phillips finished with a team-high six kills and six digs in the loss. Sophomore Lauren Wills recorded 14 assists and freshman Shannon Holt added five kills.

Next up for the T-Wolves is Region III pod action at SUNY Broome. Play gets underway at 9 a.m. Saturday.
