Niagara County Community College dropped a four-set Western New York Athletic Conference road match to NJCAA Div. II Mercyhurst North East on Tuesday night. The scores were 25-15, 15-25, 25-18 and 25-17 in favor of the Saints, who improved to 3-12. NCCC, meanwhile, drops to 1-7 overall.
Freshmen Caitlyn Vishion and Madison Phillips each had eight kills in the loss. Classmate Brynn Vandermast added a season-high five kills, while sophomore Lauren Wills racked up 27 assists.
Next up for the Thunderwolves is a trio of Region III pod matches on Saturday at Genesee Community College. Opponents include the host Cougars, Monroe CC and Finger Lakes CC.
