Niagara County Community College finished 1-2 at this past weekend's Region III pod hosted by Herkimer College. The Thunderwolves, who take on rival Erie Community College in their home opener at 6 p.m. Tuesday, are now 1-3 on the year.

Sophomore Maddy Finn had 23 digs in the come-from-behind five-set victory. Classmate Caitlyn Vishion had six kills and first-year setter McKenna Collignon finished with 20 assists.
Mohawk Valley CC 25-25-19-25, Niagara CCC 20-22-25-18
Finn notched 24 digs and Vishion again had six kills in the four-set setback. Freshman Jessica Cruz-Jackson had a career-best nine digs.
Herkimer College 25-25-25, Niagara CCC 20-10-15
Finn recorded 14 digs and Collignon had 18 assists in the straight-set loss to the host Generals. Freshman Jessi Wood added 10 digs.
