Niagara County Community College went winless at its final Region III pod of the regular season this past weekend. The Thunderwolves (3-17) will wrap up their season at the annual Western New York Athletic Conference Tournament this Saturday. Opponents include Monroe community College and host Mercyhurst North East.
Onondaga CC 25-25-25, Niagara CCC 23-20-19
Sophomore McKenna Collignon had 18 assists and nine digs, but it wasn't enough in the straight-set loss. Classmates Jessica Cruz-Jackson and Maddie Phillips added eight kills and five digs each.
Cayuga CC 25-25-25, Niagara CCC 22-23-21
Collignon racked up 23 assists and four kills, but NCCC lost three close sets. Phillips had eight kills and eight digs and sophomore Haley Freeburger chipped in with seven kills.
Jefferson CC 25-26-25, Niagara CCC 16-24-10
Collignon continued her strong individual play, finishing with 15 assists and 10 digs in the setback. Freshman Brooke Wisor came off the bench and added 12 digs.
