Thunderwolves win second straight match

Niagara County Community College earned its second consecutive win after knocking off visiting Tompkins-Cortland Community College in five thrilling sets on Sunday afternoon.

The scores were 25-17, 25-22, 24-26, 21-25 and 15-3 in favor of the Thunderwolves (2-5). The Panthers slipped to 1-5.

NCCC freshman libero Jocelyn Swierski put together a strong performance, finishing with a season-high 32 digs and seven service aces. 

Classmate Marissa Dusza put down 11 kills, while fellow freshmen Gianna Smalley and Alyssa Winstanley each had seven kills. 

Also for N-Trip, freshman Kaitlin Hoadley notched 26 assists, sophomore Kim Norman chipped in with six kills and first-year player Noor Kadhum added four kills and nine digs.

Hope Comfort had six kills to lead Tompkins-Cortland.

The T-Wolves look to continue their momentum at 6 p.m. Tuesday when they visit Genesee Community College.
