The Lady Lakers traveled to Niagara County Community College yesterday and fell to the Thunderwolves 112-80. The Lakers split the season series with the T'Wolves and now have a record of 4-3. Elisha Quinn led the way for the Lakers scoring 26 points on 9-14 shooting from the floor. Shar'Da Williamson scored 12 points and had 10 rebounds. Destiny Khay and Madison Fueger each chipped in 11 points (Fueger shot 5-7 from the floor). The key to this game was turnovers and poor 3-point shooting. Lakeland got behind early and just could never sustain any momentum to get back in the game.  The Lakers shot almost 50% from the field (32-66) but were just 2-13 (15%) from beyond the arc. Lakeland finished with a game high 21 turnovers in the loss.

Gardy's Gab: "We just got out-hustled today. it was really noticeable when looking at the rebounding and free throw attempts. we dug ourselves into a hole in the first quarter and couldn't really get out of it. We're going to turn the page and get ready for our first conference game this Saturday."

Next up: The Lakers will play host to the Lorain County Community College Commodores on Saturday (1/8). Tip off is scheduled for noon.  Please note that masks are required for all spectators regardless of vaccination status.
