WBK: Tops Fall to #14 Niagara

The Women's Basketball Tops fell to the #14 Niagara County CC Thunderwolves, 85-56 in a pre-Thanksgiving matchup. The Tops came out strong against the highy rated Thunderwolves and only trailed 21-15 after the first quarter, but NCCC clamped down on defense in the second quarter to take a 44-24 halftime lead.
The Tops could never make a good run at the Thunderwolves but did outscore them 20-18 in the 4th quarter.
Leading the way for the Tops was Amari Hancock with 13 points, while Briana Bunkley chipped in 12 and Dariah Kirksey had 11. On the boards it was Marybella Dunlap with 10 and Hancock with 9. Kirksey led the Tops in assists with 4.
The Tops will open up OCCAC play as the Hocking College Hawks will visit the Eastern Campus gymnasium on Wednesday night for a 5 pm tip. Admission is free and the game can be viewed on the Tri-C Youtube page.
