Cayuga Community College Men's Soccer got back in the win column Wednesday with a shutout home win over Niagara County Community College.

The #9 Spartans scored less than five minutes into the match and dominated throughout en route to a 4-0 victory, winning their first match after suffering their first loss of the season earlier this week to Mohawk Valley Community College. Cayuga is now 6-1 on the season and 5-1 in Region III competition.

Cayuga controlled the match against the Thunderwolves thanks to an airtight defense and a hat trick from Chris Tielrooij. Tielrooij opened the scoring early in the first period and Jack Thomas added his seventh goal of the season later in the stanza to make it 2-0 Cayuga at the half.

Tielrooij scored his second goal on a rebound shortly after the break and followed that up with a goal on a header with less than 20 minutes remaining in the contest. Jake Botterill, Joe Davison, Leo Wall and Thomas had assists.

In their next match the Spartans are away at #8 Onondaga Community College on September 27. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
