
McNitt Leads The Way To A Victory To Close Out The Season
JOPLIN, MO – Schoolcraft squared off against a familiar for in SUNY Niagara for their last game of the 2024-25 season.
With these 2 teams having played already once this season, it was going to be a battle right from the tip. In the 1st quarter, it would prove to be that with a back and fourth quarter seeing Schoolcraft win it 22-18. However, things would turn in the 2nd quarter. The ThunderWolves would bring it to the Ocelots by taking their 4-point deficit and turning it into a 7-point lead at the half. Siena McNitt would lead the way for Schoolcraft in the 1st half with 10 points and 5 rebounds.
Schoolcraft would start their comeback coming out of halftime. It would take some chipping into the lead, but Schoolcraft would win the 3rd quarter by 5 to go into the 4th trailing by 2. That trend would continue throughout the 4th quarter. On their way to closing out the season with a victory, the Ocelots would top the ThunderWolves 21-15 in the final stanza to close out a 4-point lead.
Siena McNitt led all scorers with 27 points, including 5-7 from behind the arc. McNitt would also add 8 rebounds and 2 assists to her stat line. Sharon Smith would join McNitt in double figures with 14 points while leading the team with 5 assists. Garyana Overton would have a game high of 10 assists to go along with her 7 points.
The Ocelots wrap up the 2024-25 season with a 29-6 record while logging their first appearance in the national tournament in 10 years.
