Men’s Soccer Wins Regular Season Finale over Niagara

BATAVIA, NY… The #1 nationally-ranked Genesee Community College men's soccer team finished the regular season on a winning note, defeating the Niagara County Community College Thunderwolves 7-0 on Wednesday afternoon. 

 

National Player of the Week Jan Bimmler would get the offense rolling 17 minutes into the contest after redirecting the Justin Madjeski shot. The Cougars would up the lead to 2-0 before halftime as Harrison Frearson found the back of the net. 

 

Matthew Foley would score early in the second half off a Jan Bimmler corner kick to increase the lead to 3-0. Bimmler would score his second of the match just minutes later to make it 4-0. Bimmler would earn the hat trick with 13 minutes remaining in the second half. Just seven minutes after scoring his third, Bimmler would score his fourth of the match on an indirect kick. Sonny Simpson would score off a pass from Bimmler to make it 7-0. 

 

Oliver Alaviuhkola made two saves to earn the shut out for Genesee. 

 

The match against Niagara CCC was the regular season finale for the men's soccer program. Genesee (13-0-2) will be participating in the NJCAA Region III Division III playoffs, with times and opponents TBA. Follow Genesee Athletics on social media and on www.geneseeathletics.com for more information.
