Spartans Blanked by SUNY Niagara

Minnesota State Spartans had trouble keeping up with SUNY Niagra in a 12-0 loss on Thursday.

SUNY Niagra opened the scoring in the top of the first thanks to two singles. SUNY Niagra first got on the board when Rossano singled, scoring one run.
 
SUNY Niagra extended their early lead with three runs in the top of the second thanks to RBI singles by Harper and Rossano.
 
SUNY Niagra scored four runs in the top of the third on a grand slam to right field by Finocchario.
 
Barr earned the win for SUNY Niagra. The hurler gave up one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out 12 and walking none. Carson Bevill took the loss for Minnesota State Spartans. The starter went three innings, allowing nine runs on eight hits, striking out two and walking four.
 
Dalton Heater and Tyson Barthel were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected one hit for Minnesota State Spartans. Minnesota State Spartans turned one double play in the game. Minnesota State Spartans were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Carson Bussell had the most chances in the field with six.
