The Triceratops fall to #13 Niagara

Triceratops Split During Challenging New York Swing

It was a tough shooting afternoon for the Triceratops (15-9) as they dropped a hard-fought contest to #13 Niagara Community College (21-4), 73-87. Struggling with efficiency, the Tops shot just 40% from the field, and their three-point shooting was even more difficult, connecting on only 23.8%. The team also battled at the free-throw line, missing 10 crucial attempts. Despite these setbacks, Devonte Greene turned in yet another remarkable performance, finishing with 20 points and 11 rebounds (five offensive). His shooting was flawless, making 90% of his attempts to maintain his spot among the nation's top three in field goal percentage.

Niagara's Thunder, looking every bit like a top 20 team, were locked in and ready for the challenge. They shot 47% from the field and an impressive 39% from beyond the arc. Greene was supported by Chris Brownlee, who added 13 points, Xavier Vann with 12 points and seven rebounds, and Adisa Molton who contributed 10 points and six assists. The Thunder led 38-33 at halftime and continued to build their lead in the second half, outscoring the Triceratops 49-40. Additionally, 19 turnovers by the Tops allowed Niagara to capitalize with easy baskets, proving costly down the stretch.
