Commodore Men Come up Short vs. Niagara County CC, 91-75

January 5, 2022 - - The Lorain County Community College men's basketball team lost to Niagara County Community College Wednesday afternoon, 91-75. 

The Commodores kept pace with the Thunderwolves, trailing by only by two possessions after the first 20 minutes of play, 36-32.  The deficit this time around was much better than their first meeting on November 23, 2021, in which the Commodores trailed by 27 points going into the half.

Leading the Commodores in scoring was current OCCAC Player of the Week (Dec 27, 2021-Jan 2, 2022) Rod Harris (Akron, Ohio/Garfield HS) with 20 points, 11 of which came in the first half.  Bennett Sulen (Avon, Ohio/St. Edward HS) also scored big for the Commodores with 19 and Lem Payne (Philadelphia, Pa./Mt. Pleasant HS) added 14 points as well.  

The Commodores (7-4, 1-1) start the bulk of their Ohio Community College Athletic Conference play this weekend as they travel to Kirtland, Ohio and take on the Lakeland Community College Lakers (4-2, 0-0) this Saturday at 2 p.m. It will be the opening conference game for the Lakers.
