NCCC takes two more from Jayhawks

Niagara County Community College ran its win streak to 14 games following another sweep of Jamestown CC in Region III Western Division action Thursday afternoon. The Thunderwolves, who are receiving votes in the NJCAA Div. III poll, improved to 18-4 overall and 4-0 in regional play.

Niagara CCC 22, Jamestown CC 1

Freshman DH Julian Placencia was 4-for-4 with seven RBIs to lead an offensive outburst. Freshman Zarley Cina was 3-for-4 with five RBIs and three runs scored, freshman Joe Milkowski finished 2-for-2 with four RBIs and sophomore Michael Colosi went 4-for-5 with two RBIs and five runs scored. Freshman southpaw Cameron Voss tossed three hitless innings with six strikeouts to pick up the win.

Niagara CCC 21, Jamestown CC 0

Sophomore Laine Renaud was 2-for-2 with a home run and four RBIs in the shutout victory. Freshmen Brandon Nicholson, Angelo Vilardo and Milkowski each added three RBIs at the dish. Freshman right-hander Christian Young moved to 3-0 on the season, striking out five over 2 1/3 innings of work.

Next up is a four-game regional set with Tompkins-Cortland CC. The T-Wolves travel to TC3 on Saturday and host the Panthers on Sunday. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. both days.
