NCCC picks up fourth consecutive sweep

Niagara County Community College swept its fourth consecutive opponent on Saturday at Montgomery College. The Thunderwolves are now 14-4 on the season.

Sophomore Michael Colosi stayed hot with a pair of doubles and freshman Brandon Nicholson drove in the game-winning RBI with a sacrifice fly. Freshman DH Julian Placencia also had an RBI, while classmate Michael Eagler picked up the win after throwing 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief. Freshman lefty Cameron Voss allowed just one earned run in his 5 2/3 innings of work.

Nicholson was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored as the Thunderwolves pounded out 14 hits in the win. Sophomore Laine Renaud had a double and three RBIs, while Placencia added a two-run double and scored twice. Colosi chipped in with two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored. Freshman Alex Licata went the distance for his first collegiate victory.

Sunday's doubleheader at Allegany College was canceled due to inclement weather. Next up is the T-Wolves' Region III opener against Genesee CC. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. Saturday at GCC.
