T-Wolves take 3 of 4 from FLCC

Niagara County Community College took three of four games from Finger Lakes CC in Region III play this past weekend. The Thunderwolves, who were ranked No. 3 in the latest NJCAA Div. III poll, are now 18-3 overall and 6-1 in regional play.

Niagara CCC 17, Finger Lakes CC 2

Sophomore Matt Cross ripped two home runs, finishing with four RBIs and three runs scored. Freshman Matt Kruszka was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored and classmate Bryan Rivera went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Sophomore Jarod Burmaster threw four scoreless innings to earn the win.

Niagara CCC 5, Finger Lakes CC 2

Freshman Garrett Boldt was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles in the win. Sophomore Casey Gruarin had two hits, two runs scored and an RBI and Matt Kruszka added a two-run single. Sophomores Jacob Lewis, Keegan Ernest and Joe Kruszka combined on a two-hitter.

Niagara CCC 15, Finger Lakes CC 8

Cross was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and scored twice as NCCC rolled. Freshman Michael O'Connor was also 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Boldt added three hits. Sophomore Noah Thompson finished 2-for-3 and plated three runs. 

Finger Lakes CC 5, Niagara CCC 1

The Thunderwolves managed just one hit - a single from Thompson - in the loss. Sophomore Justin Beyer threw 5 1/3 innings and allowed just three earns runs.
