Clingersmith brings in large recruiting class

Niagara County Community College baseball coach Matt Clingersmith signed a large group of student-athletes to an NJCAA National Letter of Intent at an event this past weekend in the new Learning Commons on NCCC's Sanborn campus.

Those signing with the Thunderwolves included: Lance Baldensperger (OF, Warren Area/Warren, PA), Callahan Brazier (INF, Maxwell Heights/Oshawa, ON), Matt Brown (C, Clarence/Buffalo, NY), Charles Bruning (P, Royalton-Hartland/Gasport, NY), Tom Evans (INF, Orchard Park/Orchard Park, NY), Chad Gartland (P, Irondequoit/Rochester, NY), Tyrell Herbert (P, Cardinal Newman/Hamilton, ON), Zachary Johnson (P, L.A. Webber/Lyndonville, NY), Zach LaPlante (OF, Kenmore West/Tonawanda, NY), Cole Laskowski (INF, St. Mary's/Lancaster, NY), Austin Lux (P, Springville Griffith Institute/Springville, NY), Austin Mann (P, Williamsville North/East Amherst, NY), Taras Okhrimtchouk (P, Woodroffe/Ottawa, ON), Liam Reynolds (P, Charles O. Dickerson/Trumansburg, NY), Dom Schmidt (P, Kenmore West, Buffalo, NY), Kyle Schmidt (P, Kenmore West/Buffalo, NY), Vinny Stutz (OF, Lancaster/Lancaster, NY), Jacob Thomas (P, Honeoye/Honeoye, NY), Eric Van Rassel (INF, Lorne Park/Mississauga, ON) and Trent Wasserman (P, Brighton/Rochester, NY).

"We are really excited about our 2019 recruiting class," Clingersmith said. "My coaching staff and I look forward to developing this outstanding group of young men over the next two years."

The Thunderwolves finished 40-7 last season before falling in the Region III Division III Championship. Since Clingersmith took over in 2007, NCCC has won the Region III championship and advanced to the NJCAA Division III World Series five times (2009, 2012, 2013, 2016, 2017).
