Niagara County Community College built up a big 43-11 halftime lead en route to an 86-56 Western New York Athletic Conference win at Erie Community College on Saturday afternoon. Erie CC finished its season 6-19 overall and 1-9 in WNYAC play, while the No. 8 Thunderwolves improved to 29-0, 10-0.
NCCC is the top seed and host school for this weekend's Region III Div. II Tournament. The T-Wolves will face the winner of Wednesday's sub-regional between No. 4 Jamestown CC and No. 5 Mercyhurst NE at 1 p.m. Saturday.
In this past weekend's win, sophomore Kenetria Redfern paced NCCC with 19 points, 15 rebounds and five steals. Freshman Paige Emborsky had 17 points, sophomore Cori Dickson finished with 14 points, six boards and five assists, classmate Shilah Parker contributed 12 points and four assists and freshman Aubrey Halloran added 10 points, five rebounds and four assists.
