NCCC knocks off visiting Tribunes

Niagara County Community College scored 35 points in the decisive fourth quarter to knock off defending National Champion Monroe Community College, 84-79, in Western New York Athletic Conference action on Wednesday night. The No. 18 Thunderwolves improved to 20-0 overall and 1-0 in the conference, while No. 10 MCC dropped to 8-4, 0-1.

Sophomore Shilah Parker had 22 points and 11 rebounds to pace NCCC. Classmate Kenetria Redfern added 18 points and eight boards, while freshman Paige Emborsky canned five 3-pointers on her way to 17 points, eight rebounds and four assists and sophomore Cori Dickson chimed in with 17 points of her own.

NCCC is next in action at 1 p.m. Saturday when it hosts Jamestown Community College (15-2, 1-0).
