NCCC grapplers knock off Jayhawks

Niagara County Community College dominated the lightweights en route to a 36-17 win over visiting Jamestown Community College on Wednesday night. The Thunderwolves are now 4-5 in dual meets this season.

Sophomores C.J. Walz (133) and Freddy Eckles (141) won via pinfall, while freshman Greg Quinn (125) won by major decision, sophomore Michael Phelps (157) was a winner by technical fall and freshman Anthony Robinson (285) picked up a narrow 4-3 win. NCCC also benefitted from a pair of forfeits.

Next up for the T-Wolves is a home dual meet with former conference rival Alfred State. Action is slated to begin at 7 p.m. Jan. 10.
