Niagara County Community College lost in straight sets to visiting Mercyhurst North East to highlight Western New York Athletic Conference action on Tuesday night. The scores were 25-17, 25-22, 25-17 in favor of the NJCAA Div. II Saints. NCCC drops to 2-7 overall and 0-3 in WNYAC matches.
Sophomore Maddy Finn continued her strong defensive play with 20 digs, while her former high school teammate McKenna Collignon finished with 12 assists, eight digs and three service aces. Freshman Jessica Cruz-Jackson chipped in with eight kills and four digs, while classmate Jessi Wood added five kills and seven digs.
Next up for the Thunderwolves is a trio of regional pod matches on Saturday at Erie Community College. Opponents include Finger Lakes Community College, Monroe Community College and Genesee Community College. Action begins at 9 a.m.
