SANBORN, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College men's soccer teams picked up the victory Wednesday night in a 2-0 final. The win marked the first for the Lakers on the season.
Freshman Aidan Smith (Corning, N.Y./ Corning-Painted Post) picked up two assists in the match. Smith helped break open the scoring in the 27th minute with a feed to teammate Yohan Coleman (Canandaigua, N.Y./ Canandaigua) to give the Lakers a 1-0 lead. The Lakers would take the advantage heading into the break of a close matchup.
Freshman Aidan Smith would earn his 2nd assist of the game with a pass to Cameron Rynders (Rochester, N.Y./ Greece Arcadia) who earned his first goal of the season. The goal would wrap up the scoring for both teams and the Lakers would walk away with the 2-0 victory.
The Lakers return home for their next match on Wednesday, October 19th against the Erie Community College Kats. The contest will kick off at 6:30 PM and will wrap up the Laker's regular season.
