SANBORN, N.Y. - The Finger Lakes Community College baseball team struggled on the road against SUNY Niagara as the team continued their series with the #5 Thunderwolves. The Lakers struggled in a 14-2 loss in game one, followed by a 15-4 decision in favor of SUNY Niagara in game two.
In game one, sophomore Matthew DiSanti (Farmingdale, N.Y./Farmingdale) stood out offensively, going 2-for-3 at the plate. Classmate Lucas Granger (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads) followed with an RBI. The Lakers doubled their offensive output in game two, with teammates Matthew DiSanti and Danny Melendez (Victor, N.Y./Victor) leading the charge. Melendez went 2-for-3 and scored a run, while DiSanti went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Freshman Justin Angora (Henrietta, N.Y./Rush-Henrietta) added to the offensive efforts with two hits and an RBI to contribute to the team's total of nine hits for the day. Sophomore Lucas Granger scored a run in game two and classmate Alex Ahlstrom (Dunkirk, N.Y./Dunkirk) added to the scoring column with a RBI to go along with a walk. The Lakers will enjoy a day of rest today before heading to SUNY Jefferson tomorrow May 2nd foe a doubleheader with the Cannoneers at 2 and 4 PM.
