Softball Drops Two to the Thunderwolves at Home

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. - Lakers softball fell to 4-2 Thursday afternoon after falling to the Niagara County Community College Thunderwolves 6-3 and 15-2.

Game one vs. Niagara County

The Thunderwolves struck early on the Lakers, scoring a run in the first and second inning to take a 2-0 lead. Freshman Natalie Lecceardone (Manchester, N.Y./ Red Jacket) narrowed the gap with an RBI to bring home teammate Peyton Cory (Mexico, N.Y./ Mexico). The Thunderwolves would strike back with an RBI to take a 3-1 lead into the 3rd inning.

The Lakers got back on track in the third, with an RBI single from Reagan Seelye (Elmira Height, N.Y./ Thomas A. Edison) and a home run for Natalie Lecceardone to tie the game 3 all.

The Lakers would go scoreless from that point forward as they saw the Thunderwolves tack on runs in the fifth and sixth to take the 6-3 win. 

Game two vs. Niagara County

The Lakers would drop the second matchup of the afternoon 15-2 in five innings. Lakers Skyllar Weigert (Canandaigua, N.Y./ Canandaigua)Cheyenne Cotton (Nunda, N.Y./ Keshequa), and Madison Depew (Canandaigua, N.Y./ Canandaigua) all led the Lakers in the hitting column with one each. Weigert would earn the Laker's lone RBI on a single to bring home fellow sophomore teammate Peyton Cory.

The Lakers return to play this Saturday, April 1st when they host the visiting Kats from Erie Community College for a 10 AM/12 PM matchup.
