Generals fall to No. 2 Niagara in Philly Classic

HERKIMER, NY -- The Herkimer College Men's Basketball team fell to No. 2 ranked Division II foe Niagara Community College in the first game of The Philly Classic. 

The Thunderwolves came out on fire, jumping out to an 18-2 lead in the first 3:46 of the game. The Generals fought back, trailing by as few as four points in the half, before ultimately losing by eight at halftime.

Herkimer came out slow to begin the first half, trailed by as many as 19, and lost 88-74, suffering their third loss of the season.

Dante Griffin led the team with 19 points, seven rebounds and eight assists. Shaheed Alcide, Jordyn Lanaux and Zyeir Lawrence each scored 12 points, while Nokio Kennedy added 11 points for the Generals.

Herkimer will play Sullivan County Community College on Sunday, January 8, at 2 p.m. in the final game of the Philly Classic.
