The Erie men's basektball team defeated Niagara County Community College 92-88 to advance to the Region III DII finals.
The Kats were well rounded in scoring with five players in double digits. Sophomore A'Mag Tate let the team with 22 points along with six rebound and three assists in the victory. Also with double digits were sophomores Khamani Montique 17, Waseem Ajeigbe 15, Hugo Silva 15, and Michael Duviella with 10.
Also annouced were the All Region teams. First team honors went to Tate while Duviella and Ajeigbe earned second team honors.
Erie moves on to face Monroe in the finals on Sunday. Tip-off is 1:00 pm at Monroe.
The women also played Niagara County Community College in the semifinals of the tournament, losing to the Thunderwolves 126-37. Sophomore Mia Special was named to the second team All Region for her season long efforts.
